Mission Sitrep No. FBWW-1701 Carriers & Escorts Mission Report.
Date of Mission: 10th and 11th June 2017.
Location of Mission: Oasis Regional Aquatic Centre, Wagga Wagga.
Weather: Fine but cold, a nice early winter weekend.
Mission Actions: From the comments of those who attended the 2017 Carrier and Escorts event on the Queen’s Birthday Weekend in June we again had a successful event. Members from Victoria, South Australia, A.C.T and Sydney as well as the Wagga group attended. 27 members and their partners attended bringing some 70 models from the inevitable warships to merchant marine and submarines.
Due to the information supplied that the Oasis cafeteria would not be open, a sausage sizzle fed everyone on both days and the hot water urn kept everyone supplied with tea, coffee and milo.
Saturday night was the BBQ and our thanks go to Steve and Karen for letting us use their home once again.
Thanks to everyone who came and made the weekend a success and Fleet Base Wagga looks forward to seeing you in 2018.
