Event Actions: This is the annual EXPO for the Sydney Model Shipbuilders Club (SMSC) and TF72 is in attendance for the first time in a little while. The location was the function room of the 16ft Sailing Club at Sandringham on the Georges River, so when no talking or looking at other models we had a constant stream of full size boats going past, planes overhead with Sydney airport just half a dozen kilometres away and an excellent selection of meals available. The show had an interesting mix of model ship types, from small plastic miniatures, beautifully made wooden period models, and a wide variety of RC models including the TF72 offerings. Over the weekend 500-600 visitors came through so we were kept busy answering questions – we were rather horse by the end of the expo! We explored some new ways to interest visitors, Tony brought along his flying submarine (hard to miss in its bright yellow and blue colour scheme), while Craig had 15cm long fully submerging RC submarine along with a sailing tank for the kids and some adults to try. The big surprise was a nice big TV on which we ran TF72 sailing videos over the two days. It was a good expo and we enjoyed ourselves, not so much the storm that blew in as we were trying to pack up.
