Adelaide is on it's way down to South Australia, transporting the vehicles and soldiers of 1st Armoured down there for Ex Hamel.

Love this image, the vast amount of space available is stunning, not just the lane space but the overhead space!

Feel sorry for the diggers though, Ex Hamel 16 is being held at Cultana in winter, with the freezing wind whipping off the Great Australian Bight. Great if you're training for fighting on the surface of Mars, deployments to South East Asia? Not so much...

Particularly hope the Marines who got deployed to Darwin got told to pack their cold weather gear, doing Ex Hamel 16 in summer kit is a recipe for pain and suffering, poor bastards

Cultana in winter, it sucks.

I didn't mind my brief Wagga winter weekend!! I have been to 6 Carrier N Escorts runs and while its been cold and a tad breezy! Its always been fun!!

I have driven past the Cultana training area in Summer and I definitely would not be going there in winter!! Are they going to deploy directly from the LHD onto shore or off load in Adelaide??

They are off loading in Adelaide and then drive everything up to Cultana. We've had Army convoys through here for the past two weeks including Bushmasters, G Wagons, Unimogs, Macks and Landrovers. We had about 20 Bushmasters from 7 Brigade in Brisbane come through yesterday morning all heading down there. They will be back through here in about 4 weeks on their way home to Brisbane.
