I can confirm that the Ex HMAS Sydney is alongside at Henderson in WA, ready to be 'Recycled', after plans to sink her as a dive-wreck fell through.

Is this the shape of things to come ship breaking. The last vessels broken up in the west was 2 of the O boats back in the early to mid nineties.

She had a comparatively long career Glen for a Frigate.
As for the actual Recycling at Henderson in WA, at least it is work that will keep people employed here, and let's face it, 'Beggars can't be Choosers'

With the completion of the Anzac Frigate upgrades and no new work on the horizon for some time to come I'm sure the workers will be grateful for the work.

will be interesting the fate awaits the remaining FFG's with Darwin gone by years end after Hobart commissions or there about's.
