Ex-HMAS ADELAIDE

From the Central Coast today ( Express Advocate ), an article about the pending sinking of ex-FFG Adelaide as a dive wreck.
After several years of planning & negotiating & blood sweat & tears from a wide slice of the Centeral Coast community, the ship is scheduled to be scuttled over 1km off Avoca Beach in March, & the top 12m of the mast to be erected as a monument
to the sailors who have served on her, at The Haven, Terrigal, where the dive site will be accessed from.
All of a sudden, a bunch of moron surfers from Avoca Beach intend to sink the plans ( pardon the pun) in court, because
they claim, the wreck will spoil the quality of the surf at Avoca. Also some Gosford councillors think that errecting the original mast top as a monument is too expensive, so they want a replica made instead, holy crap !!!
One councillor with a bit of intelligence stated for the paper, quote; Once the original is gone, it's gone - & no plastic
replica fron China will replace it ! Love that.
