CANBERRA has arrived in Jervis Bay for the first time. She will get used to those views over the coming 30 years or so. Photo taken by a mate who happens to be on a course at CRESWELL at the moment and woke up to this view this morning.

She has arrived in Sydney for the first time. Berthed at the old berth for MELBOURNE under the old hammer head crane. An appropriate place to put her for her first visit. She goes into the dry dock next week for a bum scrape and flight deck completion. She still has all her temp guard rails around the flight deck to make sure the civvy workers don't fall over the side. She has her nets already in place. Sydney members - go get me some photos, close up detail shots please :D

She is now in the Captain Cook Graving Dock getting a bum scrape and flight deck paint job. She looks pretty good at sea.

Malcomn Bearnz just sent me this photo taken by someone on GI. Not much room to fit in that drydock now. There is not a lot of room as the dock at its widest point a the top is 45m wide. The CANBERRA at her widest point is just over 33m. Leaves 6m each side. Breath in CANBERRA :D

Wow, big. You notice in the two shots above, Canberra fills Capt Cook dry dock width wise and 3/4 of the length of the dry dock. For comparison see the photo below, consuming just a little bit more length wise in the dry dock is Tobruk, an FFG and Success...... :D

An excellent video of Canberra's first trip into Sydney and the CC dock.
