February's Sail day was forecast as 90% chance of rain - however most of us still turned up. This is Melbourne. The weather was fine and warm and got to 31c by late afternoon.
The conditions were pretty good, except for the weeds that Parks Victoria have just begun harvesting.
There were a few new ships under construction on display - Jason's Plumridge's Musashi and Ed Galea's Marshall Soult. No large ships took to the water, so there were destroyers and corvettes and we had some fun with escort duty training.
There were also a few patrol boats (1/24 scale) but the weeds kept most of them out of the water.
In attendance was Merv Atcheson, Graham Smithwick, Jason Plumridge, John Schmidt, Ed Galea and son, Jeff Brown, Chris Thorn and Haig Jansz.
Thanks to Jason for taking most of the photos while I was sailing.
- Once again I have managed to put the photos in reverse order - so please start at the bottom.
