Good Evening All,
Members got together for our Sunday sail, Weather sunny but it was rather windy which affected the water did not stop us sailing.
Ships on the water were Osumi, Peter the Great, Toowoomba, Ardent and the submarine USS Scorpion.
Pete P has sorted most of the bugs out of the submarines systems - sea trials were required.
All ships handled the conditions well - how would the sub fare.
Pete puts Scorpion in the water she floats, so far so good engines ahead that works - time to submerge, the order is given sink sink , Pete don't you mean "dive dive dive". this evolution is also successful. Pete took the sub for several sails all successful.
All of the surface ships managed to miss her - just - we blame the choppy surface conditions and the frigates natural instinct to attack subsurface contacts .
We all had fun and it was great to see the submarine in action and some of us are now looking and wondering if a submarine as part of their future builds - may be!
cheers & enjoy the photos
