G'day All,
I went over to Kangaroo Island for a few days to visit the family, do some fishing and this time I took USS California across with me for a bit of a run where I sailed USS Long Beach several years ago, Got over there Thursday arvo and checked tide times and decided if the weather looked good I would give it a go Friday morning! Got up and it was very still at Dad's place so I jumped in the van and headed down the road to The Bay of the Shoals to check out conditions there.
It was like glass..... the only problem was tide was already on the way out so I had a bit of a carry to do to get her in the water!! Got her setup and was juggling filming with my phone and helm when the opportunity for some ASW ops sprang up with some agitated rippling in the water!! A stingray class sub was detected!! Gave chase for a bit (still videoing with phone!) then turned away....great fun!!
here are some pix....video to follow later!!

Re: KI Trip2
Great shots Bruce, she looks like a real ship in the shots without the land in the background.
Cheers
