Sail Day Sunday 2nd April

The Mission report for Fleet Base – Perth
Monday 2nd April at Jackadder Lake.
It has been a while since the Perth base has issued a mission report, work has taken me to PNG for nearly a month. In that time one of our members has left for work opportunities in Melbourne – All the best Rob from the members of Fleet Base Perth – we miss you already the coffee run was chaotic.

Today is not our usual sail day as very few of us could turn up for the Easter Sunday sail.
Weather here was sunny but with very gusty winds exceeding 25km/h + with water conditions choppy.
Not very friendly for the smaller models such as Ardent.

In attendance were Glen Minus HMS Hermes – left the transmitter at home – ouch!
Peter with submarine USS Scorpion, Nige with HMS Toowoomba, Andrew with HMS Manchester, Mario with 96 scale USS Lasson and and me (Serge) with HMS Ardent. Also making the journey was Graeme.

Sailing when it occurred did no last long as the winds were gusting quite fiercely, so some of us were concerned about capsize or lost superstructure.
The water conditions did not bother the models, all showed good sea keeping qualities with focsles and flight decks being the recipients of a nice wash.
We enjoyed coffee and tea, melting chocolate eggs and each others company - fantastic day.

Enjoy the photos

Cheers

Serge

It was rather choppy today. It was good to sea all ships sailing. :D
