Well what a day!! Got van packed last night ready to go nice and early, get to the pond to find massive algae bloom has taken over 50% of the pond!!
Started unloading DDG53 and DDG41 Brisbane decided to leave CGN36 in the van due to the muck...I had Peter along with me for Brisbane's first test run with superstructure on and as the pics show we had to add some weight stbd side to trim it, but after that she ran fine (the buehler motors got a bit hot so I have done some reworking this arvo removing the black cases for better ventilation).
Despite the threat from the algae we had a good run apart from the four recoveries Scott had to do out in the middle, Pete joked later that Scotty deserved an AO (order of Australia) for the recoveries AND for having a Tomato sauce bottle in his work gear! which was needed because Jim had forgotten one for the BBQ
There was a bit of mayhem during the running with Nick's mega yacht steering like nutter, and Graham Hamilton Nizam colliding with Brenton's Parramatta(I) and Brenton might have been involved in something else too....either they are trying to get all the crazy out before Naracoorte or practicing for an epic level collision.....and getting that yellow man!!
Nick also lost his central prop off an azi pod and out of nowhere we had some very strong wind gusts which showed that FFGs like to get tippy and DDG41 was actually pretty stable!! DDG53 did not even notice.....
here are he first lot of pics thx to Bruce Petrie....
Cheers Bruce B2
