Fleet Base Perth - Sailing Day 16 September 2018
Posted: 23 Sep 2018 23:28
The scheduled sailing day at Jackadder Lake on Sunday presented itself with fine spring weather and treated us to the sun shining and no water on the water. It gave us a chance to dust off our boats that have been sitting on the benches for the long winter and enjoy the morning. Members that attended with their models were Andrew Kemp (INS Kirpan), Nigel Rockey (HMAS Toowoomba), Peter Pawlette (HMAS Darwin, USS Skipjack, Bob Gilbert (USS Missouri).
With almost perfect conditions presenting themselves, Bpob Gilbert's magnificent USS Missouri dailed both manacingly and graceully on the water with guns blazing and the distant sounds of 'Anchors Aweigh'. Pete brought down his USS Skipjack and was always happy when you can see the model's sail when submerged but whilst also sailing his HMAS Darwin at the smae time, he found out that his signal will reached 68m pout into the lake after multi-tasking both models.
A goodf day had by all.
