Maritime Prepositioning Force. The US Navy's already unrivaled amphibious capabilities, with its large fleet of LHAs, LHDs, LPDs, LSDs, and LCACs, is now reaching new levels. A LMSR MSC ship moored alongside USNS Montford Point (T-ESD-1) as it transfers equipment to LCACs headed for shore.

The Chinese may have one second hand carrier, have launched a copy of that carrier and be building a third, but the US Navy would like to remind everyone what serious naval aviation looks like.

a blast from the past....San Diego. I'm pretty sure the carriers are Ranger and Kittyhawk, the Iowa class is either Mo or NJ, top of pic is CGN9 with Kidd class USS Chandler.
EDIT: was just thinking 2 CV's, a BB, CGN9 and a DDG that's around 7000 crew (not counting the airgroup crews another 5000...)
