Hi Herbie and welcome to Task Force  I find the best day to be the Saturday. Usually everybody is there and it's all the same scale! On Sunday it's open scale and some people leave early to head home. Scott :boats: :boats: :boats:

Hi Herbie, welcome aboard.

Most definitely the Saturday, that's the important day, when all of our reviewing officers are there and the maximum number of members will be there.

There is also the Task Force 72 20th Anniversary Dinner that night at the Skyrider Motel in Katoomba.

Look forward to seeing you there.

Mike

Thanks for the welcome

So I don't act like a clutz on the day, may I ask a couple of quick questions?

lake access and address? (never been there)
parking?....(I am coming in a small 3 ton truck!)
And on the water etiquette......launching, mooring, the review?...ect

A rough idea of how the day proceeds.

last thing I want to do is step on toes first journey out

But cannot wait to finally see some of the models in the flesh, and to join them

Hi Herbie,

Wentworth Falls Lake, Sinclair Crescent, Wentworth Falls. Basically come up the mountains, at Wentworth Falls turn left at the lights at the shops into Station Street, follow Station Street over the railway line and turn left, that's Sinclair Crescent. We're about 600 meters up that road, you literally will not be able to miss us.

There is access to the water via a small access road that runs down to the lake itself. Basically pull in there, unload and move out again, not really the place to park for long given the number of large ships that will need unloading. It's public access area. If there's no one with you just sing out, plenty of members there to give you a hand. Once unloaded you can park on the other side of the road that runs parallel to the Lake, Sinclair Crescent.

There's a set of operating instructions on the forum here http://taskforce72.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=912 that should answer most of your questions.

Given the size of Yamato, if you wish to anchor in the designated anchorage, you need to moor fore and aft, that way you don't take up too much space in the anchorage.

Once you're there just ask any of the committee, we're here to help.

Mike

Thanks Mike for answering Herbie. I think you covered everything. Welcome aboard Herbie. I remember seeing your photos of YAMATO at BAE so look forward to seeing it in person. Definitely saturday is the day to go.

Hi all,

Sorry to hijack your post Herbie but thought I'd just ask whether there will be club merchandising and hardware for sale at the regatta like t shirts, caps, motors etc?

Looking forward to my trip across the ditch for this event, catching up with those of you I've met in the past and those of you I still have yet to meet, and checking out all your awesome models. Keen to check out the local model shops as well during the following week.

See you all in late November.

Garry.

Garry,

There will be merchandising as in escs, motors, flags, railing etc there, not too sure about t shirts/clothing as Brian down in Wagga organises them. Probably best to contact him so we can arrange for items to be there. Otherwise, anything you want specifically just email me.

regards,

Michael

An aerial shot of the venue with the tree we normally congregate under shown. We either unload from across the road or drive down to the water and launch straight in. The site plan approved by council will be on the forum before the event.

I believe it has been, it was discussed not long after the AGM and you should have heard something. No doubt Russ and Michael are on it.
