My Landing Craft is another small model ship that has a different drive system to my patrol boats. In this model I use two small motors with a direct coupling to each propeller shaft. These motors are again sourced from Dick Smith Electronics and they are designed to run between 3 and 12 Volts. I use a 7.4V, 900mAh LiPo battery to power this model. This means that the motors don’t rev very fast but this is suitable for the landing craft as they are not a fast vessel anyway. The speed controller in this model is another model car speed controller, in this case from Tamyia. A small 9gm servo is used for the rudder I could save a bit more weight by replacing the full size receiver with something a little smaller.

Re: Landing Craft
Don't think Alan's Fremantle class is 72, more 48 scale.

Re: Landing Craft
Rob
I do have hulls for the Landing Craft and the Fremantle in 1:72nd scale. I actually moulded one of each last weekend for some guys out side of TF72. I also have a Fremantle in 1:35th and have almost finished a plug for a Landing Craft in 1:35th scale.
I will send you a PM tomorrow with details.
Regards
Steve
