What ever became of the USS Tarawa featured fleetingly on page 21 of Model Boats mag. March 2000 shown under constuction alongside the then unfinished USS Winston Churchill

Belongs to Chris Baily.
I am led to believe it is well advanced and operational, it just doesn't get out often unfortunately.
Given the size of the model, it may be that plays a part in it's infrequent excursions as well.

Plus the fact that Chris is also building BB USS Missouri, & bought half built CV64 USS Constellation from John Slater,
both 1/72, this is a lad with a lot on his plate, Tarawa being the smallest serving.
I am trying to badger him to get Tarawa up & running for this year's regatta, hopefully as a companion to Tony Firth's
Wasp cl LHD. Ooh Ahh !!!
Allan.

Hey Bruce, I was talking to GD about four months ago that a San Antonio class USS New York would be a nice model to have. Really like the look of her.
