Hi all, I was reading here about Styrene sheets,I found a place here in Gosford that sells it.
But I haven't read any mention about what glue to use for it.
I am going to try Styrene for my first time.
what do you all use.
Robert Smyth.

Re: Glue for Styrene
Hi Robert
Styrene can be glued with many of the solvent based glues. These melt the surface of the styrene and create a welded type joint. I generally use the liquid type styrene cement that you buy at the hobby shop for plastic model kits.
The place that you are getting your styrene sheet from will probably have a range of different glues that will also work.

Some people swear by ZAP-A-Gap, others swear at it.
I use Revell's Professional Contact Cement, basically it's plastic model kit glue, available at any hobby store worthy of the name.

Re: Glue for Styrene
A tip too..... if you give a plywood deck a coat of fibreglass resin and sand it smooth you can glue styrene to it with model glue! This is because the resin is also styrene based (most automotive & builders fillers(BOG) also are styrene based too..)
