Wish I had had that akula/typhoon photo Mike, way back when I was developing the kit.
It's also amazing in 2 other aspects, the props bosses with the, what I call ( ' bastard vortex actuators' ) which I seem to have got fairly accurate. I can't remember how !
Also those 'drunken' ? sailors on the ' quarterdeck' which appears to have ice on it, or at least looks very slippery with what appears to be water dripping off the edge, very scary ! but a great photo. Keep em comin'.

Alien.

The Russian Navy is considering a major overhaul of the Akula class submarines in service, extending their service lives by up to 25 years.

The oldest of the boats, “Pantera” (K-317) was commissioned in 1990, the youngest, "Gepard” (K-335) commissioned in 2001.

Image showing the German Navy's Type 212A and Type 206A submarines. The Type 212A isn't all that large, so this hows how small the 206A is.

Image

Shorter than an Armidale class patrol boat (55m vs 49m long) and not that much heavier (300 tonnes vs 456 tonnes) and the Armidale is made of aluminium.
