1950'S era Whiskey Long Bin cruise missile submarine.

Apparently so noisy underwater you could track it from dozens of miles away, even with the passive sonars of the era.

Looking at this image its not hard to work out why.

Taken a few days ago, five Kilo class in the ice at the Kronstadt naval base in the Baltic.

You can visit Kronstadt as the island is a tourist attraction with cathedrals, museums and other attractions. For most of TF72 members the reality that you can shoot Russian naval images at a similar distance as FBE is to the Domain would be an attraction.

I missed Kronstadt when i visited Russia in 2019, I'd happily go back for another visit and this time Kronstadt would be on the itinerary.

Hi Russ,

Last trip was in late September, was cold but not too cold.

Would happily go back, as St Petersburg has over 300 museums, many of which are military related, including the Russian Navy Museum and the Russian Artillery Museum.

I could also spend at least another day in the hermitage, as we missed stuff even visiting it for several days.

Newly 'launched' and commissioned Russian improved Kilo class "Magadan".

I remember when getting propeller shots like this was something the US was desperate for and the Soviets would have happily killed to prevent, now they get issued to the media.
