That's fantastic John....brings back fond memories of my own Typhoon! I really miss her sometimes.....

Is that Dave Merriman's torpedo system being fired (ie same as the one that you have been testing?) It looks terrific, I love the way the weapons leave the tubes and leave the bubble trail behind. Fantastic stuff.

Have to say that they are game even going to periscope depth in that murky water! Not something I'm ever keen to try.....

Yes Typhoon and Alfa remain my Russian favorites - there is for something more manageable in the Typhoon some excellent 1:100 and 1:150 scale kits

Yes - the same torpedo system. Mine has identical performance, speed, and lethality.

Agree the water looks like there is minimum visibility - don't know whether I'd sail in those conditions, then again have seen the same boats playing in iced up waters.

PS Carl,
working on the FC layout for the Seawolf -unlike my Collins that used pneumatic torpedo release via electrically wet solenoids, the fish on SW will swimout on mechanical servo cycling. Hope to have one PCB board FC cycle one channel through various sequential servo outputs. By plugging servos into the board in any order you can program the setup to pretty much release the fish in any order and all off 1 channel.

I doubt she'll be ready for Central Coast but you never know. Joel in Canada has a way to go yet, as does the Pumpjet coming from the US. I am getting stuck in with the customised WTC for her. I am going to sea trial her with twin motors via dual 5:1 gear boxes on to one shaft. There is a view which is thinking the thrust from the pump jet is going to need bucket loads of extra torque, but the elephant in the room is finding a bearing that will cope with the torque.

No this is not truly scary - its bloody hilarious
I honestly can see this over and over and it is as funny as the first time. Hits me where I live.

This was made over twenty years ago, The model is a Darnell "T" class and the torpedoes were in fact just blown out of the front half of a spare hull in a fish aquarium using a bycycle pump but the effect was brilliant. The ad won a golden rose award at Montreux.
