Our Town Hobby Show, Newcastle

Post by RussF172 »

Hi everyone. Was just notified this morning that due to the major sponsor pulling out of this years "Our Town Hobby Expo" which was to be held in August at Broadmeadow in Newcastle, the show has been cancelled. They hope to secure another major sponsor for next year and it will roll on in 2019.

Cheers, Russ

Bummer, Our Town was always a worthwhile effort, if only because of the large number of retailers selling tools and other stuff.

Lets hope they get squared away for next year.

No idea, they didn't say. They just said that their major sponsor had withdrawn support and that it didn't allow them to put on the show. Don't know if it was Frontline or not as they have moved now from Hunter Street to Broadmeadows, not far from where the show was.

I was in the new Frontline yesterday & spoke to the guy who was always in charge of their Our Town display, & put the question
to him, he knows me as being the head honcho for the TF72 display, so I know he wouldn't just brush me off. He said at this point
they don't really know if it's going to be on or off.
I'm assuming that Frontline aren't the major sponsor, so they seem to be just as much in the dark as everyone else,..... early days.

Allan.

Wasn't it a credit union or a bank, someone like that?

Hence the 'Our Town' label.

It is with much regret that we must advise you all, that the 2018 our town model show will not be happening this year as we have been unsuccessful in securing a major sponsor for this years show.
We would like to take the opportunity to thank all the traders, exhibitors and especially the public for all your continued support.
We are using this break to work behind the scenes to bring you a new and exciting show for 2019.

Regards,

Our town model show team
