Australia Day in Newcastle

I am advised that there will be an Australia Day event, the National Maritime Festival 2011, on Australia Day on the Newcastle waterfont.

The program apparently includes model boats in the Frog Pond. Once I have more details I will post them for members.

Having been unable to get onto the organisers (who apprently don't believe in checking voicemails) I contacted Lindsay in Newcastle who informs me that a display will not be proceeding as;

The pond has not been cleaned so the bottom is green with slime
The pond is still filled with sea water
The organisers are so useless that they waited until quite recently to ask for attendance and most people have other things planned for the day.

So where is the Show for the people near Sydney? Is it Newcastle or Wentworth Falls or somewhere else?

Fleet Base Greater Sydney will be having a running day on Australia Day, Wednesday 26 January, from 9.00 AM at WWF, as part of the annual COEX (COmbined EXercise)
