Mawson Lakes Sail Day
Hi guys today Fleet Base Gulf Waters had there sail day for the month of February at Mawson Lakes, With the temp being around 33degrees the morning was nice but around 1.00pm she was starting to heat up. It was a great day with a new member of FBGW's making its first appearance under a new commander Scott Rice USS Plunger ex John Slater's Permit Sub and then the normal fleet with more detail finished on a lot more ships. HMAS Darwin Owner Graham Donnell and builder Richard Atkinson had its finial test before all decks are glued down all went great so she may look different on the next sail day, Richards Vosper was running great until he crossed wires and cooked his Speedy. Bruce takes the Homer award for the day with Longbeach kissing the concrete and having some small damage on her bow, he said he was watching Hood and not Longbeach. Chris came down with his Alfa sub and made targets of all our ships again. all in all a great day with some laughs and great guys.Cheers Scott

Re: Mawson Lakes Sail Day
Scotty forgot to mention Warner went base over apex in the Lake .....TWICE!! while trying 2 adjust HMS Hood
and when Richee BBQ'd the ESC in his Vosper MTB You could smell crispy electronics from 15foot away...not good
As Scott mentioned LB tried 2 become one with the concrete and split the bow bulwark and threw an upper SPG55 resin radar overboard!! fortunately they float and I was able 2 retrieve it!
Lots of the locals swung past 2 see what we was up 2 and ask questions about our models.
Cheers Bruce (B2)
