Wentworth Falls Mission Report 1905 – 16 February 2019

Mission Sitrep No. FBGS-1905

Date of Mission: Saturday 16 February 2019

Location of Mission: Wentworth Falls Lake

Weather:

We arrived to an overcast morning with a cool breeze that had most of us looking for a jumper or jacket which was not predicted by the BOM, no surprise there, I guess.  The sun broke through the cloud cover throughout the morning and the lake was a little bumpy at times but generally good sailing conditions were had.

Ships in Attendance:

HMS Guernsey, HMAS Anzac, RMAS Lamlash, HMAS Macquarie, Kirov Class Cruiser Frunze, Fairmile H LCS (L) (2) 256, New York Harbour Tug Carol Moran, INS Athay, HMS Savage.

Members in Attendance:

Michael & Robyn Brown, Peter Schroder, Brian McKellar, Tony Page, Allan Pew, Phil Chapman, Carl Linkenbagh.

Mission Actions:

General sailing took place throughout the morning, the slight breeze at times gave the smaller models some choppy conditions to contend with but this died down toward lunch time to smooth water conditions. Fleet Base Canberra member Carl Linkenbagh arrived later in the day to sail his newly completed Kirov Class Cruiser Frunze. Some formation sailing took place with Frunze, Macquarie and Savage.
