Mission Sitrep No. FBGS-1910

Date of Mission: Saturday 27 April 2019

Location of Mission: Wentworth Falls Lake

Clouds and a cool breeze greeted us on arrival, the sun broke thru by mid morning but the breeze persisted making the lake choppy at times.

Ships in Attendance:

HMAS Melbourne, HMAS Anzac, HMAS Arunta, HMAS Diamantina, Sydney Harbour Tug Warang.

Members in Attendance:

Phil Chapman, Rob Ritchie, Peter Schroder, John Konda and new member Paul Hornby.

Mission Actions:

This was our ANZAC run and due to the Easter & ANZAC Day holiday period we only managed four skippers sailing in attendance. This didn’t deter us from having a great sail with four proud Australian warships sailing and Sydney Tug Warang. Arunta and Diamantina looked great sailing together as did Melbourne and Anzac. The four ships took part in watch keeping exercises which I must say went extremely well and was appreciated by the general public watching. I took a photo of Warang coming along side Arunta at her mooring, who knows, Warang may well have assisted Arunta during the war years.
