Some more construction underway, in a change from the host of V&W class destroyers, this time we have a few US Navy models. The Lead ship of the Gearing class of WW2 destroyers, USS Gearing, and the Fletcher class destroyer USS Gatling, had motors fitted, while the Buckley class destroyer escort USS England had cross members fitted.

A few more progress shots of HMAS Voyager, being built as she was when lost in Betano Bay in Timor during a resupply run to support Australian troops on occupied Timor in September 1942. Being built at blistering speed by Fleet Base Sydney member Martin, Voyager will be another addition to the large number of V&W class destroyers under construction, including Vampire, Vendetta and Waterhen, as well as the Scrap Iron Flotilla leader, HMAS Stuart.

A few shots of the latest project of master model builder and Fleet Base Wagga member Geoff. Geoff has a love of older subjects, particularly Sydney Ferries, and has a wonderful collection of them, including a wonderful replica of the Steam Tug Curl Curl. Here we have shots of his latest project, the Sydney Ferry Lady Scott.

Members of Fleet Base Sydney enjoyed a cool, and cloudy day's sail in calm conditions today at the Sydney International Regatta Centre in the city's far west. An interesting collection of ships were there from different era's with not all of them being captured out on the water.
