Replacing Nulka

Post by MikeJames »

The Government has announced that Nulka will be replaced by a new passive defence system from Rheinmetall.

The Multi-Ammunition Soft-Kill System is currently in service with 11 navies, and will be fitted to all major surface combatants, replacing Nulka, this includes the Hobarts and Anzacs, the future Hunters and potentially the amphibious ships Canberra, Adelaide and Choules, the replenishment ships Stalwart and Supply, and potentially the Arafura's should they be up-gunned as well as the mooted missile corvettes.

Clarification, it appears that this MASS system is not to replace Nulka as I first reported, but will replace the Super Rapid Blooming Offboard Chaff launchers currently on board most RAN major warships.

Apologies.

Nulka will continue in service with the RAN, US Navy, US Coast Guard and Royal Canadian Navy.
