HMS Prince Of Wales Engineering Casualty

Post by littoralcombat »

Following the embarrassing mechanical 'breakdown' of HMS Prince Of Wales, we now have some clarity:

https://www.navylookout.com/hms-prince- ... r-tasking/

So an external SKF Coupling has failed. For anyone who is familiar with these, they are an amazing piece of kit, and as stated in the Navy Lookout, hardly ever prone to failure. But if they do.......Oh Boy!! :wtf:

What has also been of interest during the lead-up to the cause being released by the RN, has been the usual sniping from the 'Press' regarding what had happened. The "Media pile-on and uninformed speculation" has indeed been spectacular, and the 'Trolls' on many website groups that I frequent have crawled out from under their slimey little bridges en-masse. Quite pitiful behaviour from grown Men who all must have Honorary Marine Engineering Degrees by the way they carry on.
