PACIFIC JEWEL in drydock at Garden Island

Post by CarlLinkenbagh »

P&Os magnificent 70'000 cruiseship PACIFIC JEWEL (formerly the CROWN PRINCESS, built by Fincantieri) is currently in the Captain Cook drydock at Garden Island. She is an awe inspiring sight. Because of her enormous size, the fact she takes up most of the dock and access around the dock itself is restricted, she is quite difficult to photograph. But here are a few anyway that I managed to get today.

Interesting thing for me is the single rudder.

MB - I know she's boxy - and very much like a large woman in a small bikini - she's no Catherine Zeta Jone's to look at, but its what she is and represents is what I like.

Yeah agree Michael, they great thing about cruising on one however, is your not seeing the block of flats.
but your right - there are far more pretty looking lines to be had on similar subjects.

Also, when you're standing on your balcony on the 7th floor, you're not looking at the block of flats next door !

Unless your balcony's on the port side & you're in drydock at Gardsn Island.
