Hi all, I am after the Blue closed cell foam for ballasting a sub. I have tried all over Adelaide with no luck. Can anyone point me to a supplier anywhere

Cheers Chris :wlr:

Hi Chris
the part and brand details of the foam I use is as follow:

Dow - extruded polystyrene foam
130306A

That said almost all extruded polystyrene closed cell foam boards would do. Remember these ARE NOT CA glue safe. Use RTV silicon to glue these into the hull.

-Been ages since I bought some and have a supply to last me for all my sub projects so not buying some anytime soon.

You can buy it as it is a building insulation product and the model train guys use it for layouts/

I would suggest you find a DOW supplier and ring them. They can cut it up into mailable squares for you.

Best

John

Thanks John for the reply, still haven't found a supply here in SA but I am still looking.

I normally use surf board foam, but the boats that I am helping with have the "Blue Foam" in them already and I just wanted to keep them with all the same look.

Cheers Chris :wlr:
