Really need your help Guys, I am looking for drawings or the assault ship Kanimbla with the upgrades and new superstructure added to her after her purchase from the US navy

I understand that a 1:72 hull of the LPAs was done, as Russ delivered at least one to DSTO's Australian Aeronautical and Marine Research Laboratories.

Hi Stevie. I was a marine technical sailor on KANIMBLA and MANOORA over the years from 2000 - 2007 inclusive. I lived, breathed, worked and loved those two ships for a good part of my RAN career. Can't help you with plans, but happy to help you out with information etc if I can. Cheers

Thanks for the kind post and advice will upload the photo,s of this project as we construct this mould and plug , the plan to build 2 models between myself and scottishmike on forum to build US Navy me the Australia version

Michael also plans to get the new LHD Canberra and Tobruk as soon the prices come down for postage to Scotland

Also I remember the hull years ago and was wondering what happened to it and if it was finished

That hull was done for DSTO by John Martin however he is no longer able to do anything due to age and I believe he is now in a retirement home. There were some plans around for it but they are not on the plans list available from the RAN. Dave Rule might be your best bet.

Hi Stevie, unfortunately John is no longer a member and is very old. I haven't seen him for nearly a decade now and believe he is in a nursing home, doesn't have email and isn't modelling any more so if had the plans, I believe they would have all been binned by now. Sorry. The other guys is Dave Rule so will have to check with him what he may have still.
