Dec. 4th & 5th TF72 Run - Wentworth Falls
Well after a weeks worth of rain we all woke to see a very overcast day (Saturday) But I packed the car as did many others and of we drove to Wentworth falls. On arrival I saw there was already a good attendance. A good variety of models attending and lucky plenty of marquis setup in case of rain. We were all glad when the heavens opened up later that day for a short period. I saw a few models were taking on board some water but with the amount of rain I'm not surprised. A few models even had a bit of a list I was told due to extra water ballast. Even though the weather could have been better we all had a good day.
My pictures I took can be found at (344 images) : http://picasaweb.google.com/TF72au/2010 ... lsMickElst#
If others wish to add pictures of the day let me know and will explain how to add your own directory.

What great set of photos - nice to see the Al's Mumbi finished.
Love the shot of Jim's Anzac and his newly acquired liberty ship sharing the wharf.
What a shame about the weather.

Great pic's Mick!! I have made it back 2 Adelaide the temperatures coming thru the riverland were in the high 30's with lots of humidity!! Totally different 2 the moist conditions at WWF!! My car made it home ok! Now I need 2 repair the busted exhaust and melted tailight ( caused by the exhaust!) and clean 8.3million squished locusts off it 2!!
Great catching up with everybody C you all in Canberra for next years Regatta.

Weather unfortunately is part n parcel of the hobby but die hards will turn up pretty much anywhere and run regardless of what Mr Weather man has to say. Had it bucket down on us at Canberra few weekends back and despite the forecast would n missed it - great run, well worth the expense and long drive.
Yeah the weather was fickle this w/end, had a great run in brilliant sunshine at Manly Dam today.
Glad you guys had a good trip home
Best

From memory the possibility of it rotating between WWF, Canberra and Wagga wagga was mentioned in the Newsletter ( or the AGM report) several months back, It was spoken of at the conclusion of the awards on Sat. I am sure it will crop up in the post regatta newsletter.

I look forward to seeing new venues myself for this event. This will make a nice change and even hopefully more people attending because of this change.BsHvyCgn9 wrote:From memory the possibility of it rotating between WWF, Canberra and Wagga wagga was mentioned in the Newsletter ( or the AGM report) several months back, It was spoken of at the conclusion of the awards on Sat. Hi guys,
The Destroyer looking ship with the number 42, is that a model of a real ship? I don't recognise it.
Cheers

I was depressed last night, so I rang lifeline. Got a call centre in
Afghanistan and told them I was suicidal.
They got all excited and asked if I could fly a plane.

The mission reports should be posted by Wednesday evening, we have some superb photos, thanks to Peter Jones, John Konda, Michel Elst and Michael Brown.
It looks like being 4 parts to keep the overall size down to manageable levels.

Just wanted 2 say a big thank you 2 all the TF72 NSW members who made us traveler's feel very welcome.
I think the gray skies made for some wicked photographic conditions especially when HMAS Perth's camo made her all but disappear !! Sailing with you all was a blast and I look forward 2 catching up with any who turn up at the Easter Wagga run ( and June 2 if I can make it!!)
Cheers Bruce

Great pics Mick, thank you for sharing them. I particularly liked the pictures of Hobart (DDG 39) I served in her sister ship Brisbane, DDG 41. And I liked HMS Leander, I served in her as ops officer during my exchange time in the RN
Bruce, LB is beginning to look pretty powerful and intimidating, well done. Needs a Slava class to keep an eye on her........ and the Tico.

Craig is undertaking a major upgrade of the forum.
Users won't see a difference, however it will make the forum a lot more stable and fix some issues that have arisen.
That includes issues with posting missions reports.
There are several mission reports backed up, including a four part Annual Regatta MR.
