Carriers & Escorts Weekend - Wagga June 2017
Hi All,
This was another great weekend of model warships, plenty of interested members of the public and lots of fun between the members.
A big thankyou to the boys from Wagga, in particular Brain, Kerry and Steve you did a great job suppling us a great venue, food and drinks and nothing to worry about.
To the members from Sydney, Canberra, Wagga, Victoria and South Australia it was great to catch up and see you lovely models sailing.
It is a testimony to the members of this club the way everybody chips in and helps each other with models, boxes, chairs, tables etc.
Already looking forward to next year!
Here are a few photos from the weekend, it was a big ships weekend with 9 being over 2 meters long.
Subs had good runs both above and below the surface. The only rescue of the weekend was performed by a brave swimmer from the indoor heated pool! Peter Cole checks for damage - a good drying being the order of the day. Not only does the real Russian fleet need a repaint! Bob from Canberra had something very usual a German Flower! I can post more photos if members are interested just let me know.

Re: Carriers & Escorts Weekend - Wagga June 2017
The Carrier and Escort weekend was another great success with just on 30 members showing up to enjoy the event. Some great models, fine weather and good company all helped make this another memorable regatta.
Thanks to all of those who travelled to attend; the other guys and I from Fleet Base Wagga Wagga really appreciate the support for this event each year.
One of the interesting aspects of this regatta is the media exposure that it attracts with both local TV and newspapers always showing an interest. Again this year there were a couple of reporters taking photos and talking with members. The following link will take you to the photos in the local paper. http://www.dailyadvertiser.com.au/story ... ar-photos/

Hi Steve, Wagga has turned this into an iconic event in the TF72 calendar over the years. Something we all wait to see the photos of each year.
Love the photo's, Craig please post more, some truly nice shots, of some very nice models.
Sorry not to see the enterprise in the mix.
Can I say, I think this would be an excellent promo shot for the club.

Hi All,
I was just approached by somebody at work who was driving home after a weekend in Victoria, he was listening to the ABC on the way home and was telling me that they were talking about the model boats at Wagga on the weekend and how great it was. The commentator was saying that if it was on next year he would definitely be going to see them.
Free PR you have got to love it!
More photos tomorrow work is in the way today.

Hi Bruce
A few corvettes showed up but I know that there are plenty more out there. Thanks to those who did bring them along. We might have to try again next year.
I counted eight Flowers and two Bathurst corvettes on Saturday. At one point there were seven Flowers and a Bathurst on the water for a short time but I wasn’t quick enough to get a photo.
