Naracoorte 2019
Some photos from the weekend at Naracoorte.
Thanks to Jim and the FBGW members that hosted us.
The pool, weather and company for the weekend were all excellent.
My special thanks to Tom and Vince for wading in and retrieving our two sunken ships resulting from an unfortunate towing mishap.
Regards
Haig

Love sailing at Naracoorte, thanks for sharing guys.
I wish there were photos of the tug and KGV on the bottom. Lets face it, it's not something you will see everyday.....

Re: Naracoorte 2019
I think some fake news has crept in here. It was HMS Cornwall that took on water and went under unfortunately. It is in the top photo. I don't know where King George V entered the story.

Re: Naracoorte 2019
A few more photos taken at the 'Night Sail'. These are all FBGW ships.
With new LED floodlights installed at the Naracoorte pool it is much more inviting.

Haig

Re: Naracoorte 2019
Hi Guys
Brillant photos of what looks like a good day out ,but may i ask who owns the model is the German ELBE class tender and if possible can the owner contact me by email, i was hoping to build this model of this tender as it would go with the German BREMEN class frigate which is under construction right now
but so far i have been unable to upload my photos of this model as well as other models presently under construction on the task force site due to photobucket which i used in the past

Re: Naracoorte 2019
Hi Steve,
The vessel is a Elbe class tender. There are 6 ships in the fleet, 4 used to support patrol boats and 2 for submarine support. The vessels are multi role and can be configured via specialized containers for a variety of missions. The vessel can also act as a fleet command or hospital ship. The vessels have extensive medical facilities but no on board doctor. Doctors are flown in as needed.
The model in the photo was under going ballasting and sea trials. She is not yet named but will most likely be "Elbe" A 511.
Regards
Chris
