A few shots from the awards part of the day.

Excuse the darker images, the weather, as can be seen was atrocious, so we were huddled under the marquee in poor light.

Open the images in a new tab to see them at full size.

El Presidente Phil with the Wentworth Shield winner, Allan Pew for his WW2 cruiser HMS York, as voted by the members present.

Our reviewing officer, Commodore Paul O’Grady, DSM, CSM, RAN, currently serving as Commodore Flotilla's at Maritime Headquarters, was our reviewing officer, and followed in the footsteps of his reviewing officer predecessors in being blown away by what he saw.

The Bravo Zulu award, chosen by our reviewing officer, went to Rob Ritchie, for his model of the FFG HMAS Melbourne.

There was only a little truth that as a former FFG XO then CO of Newcastle, that he may have been a little bit biased.

The Newbie Award for his first model went to Nigel Moreton for his model of the Royal Navy C class destroyer Chequers.

This was one of the closest competitions for some years.

York won the Wenty with Kent second and Frunze third.

Kent won the Military Vessel with Frunze second and Ardent third. The difference between first and third was three points.

John Oxley won the Civil Vessel award with Ile de Saint Pierre second and Mortlake Bank third.

The civil ships weren't photographed too much. I only managed to get a shot of Saint Pierre.

Wonderful, thank you Craig.

I'll be using some of these images to promote the Association in the future.
