Wentworth Falls Mission Report 1914 – 22 September 2019

Mission Sitrep No. FBGS-1914

Date of Mission: Sunday 22 September 2019

Location of Mission: Wentworth Falls Lake

Weather:

Clouds and quite a chilly breeze greeted us on arrival. I was wearing a jacket and beanie it was that cool however by 1030 the sun broke thru and the wind died down giving us nice weather for the remainder of the sail.

Ships in Attendance:

HMAS Melbourne, HMS Guernsey, INS Godavari, HMCS Annapolis

Members in Attendance:

Phil Chapman, Rob Ritchie, Geoff Eastwood, John Konda, Jim Campion, Chris Uttley, Mike James.

Mission Actions:

As mentioned in my weather report above the weather was not forecasted to be as cold as it was and John, Jim and Chris retired to Jim’s place for a warm coffee. However, us hardier crew comprising Rob, Geoff, Mike and myself stayed for a sail. It has been a while since Mike has attended a run and he realised that his model he brought would have worked better if he had remembered to bring the transmitter for it. You better write yourself a reminder note next run Mike.

It was good to see Geoff at the lake with his Indian Navy Godavari Class Frigate Godavari and his Canadian Navy St Laurent Class Frigate Annapolis. After the sun broke thru around 1030 a pleasant sail was had until about 1245.
